Grange Horse Ride

 08/07/07

Click each picture to make it big.  Then back to return here.

We took a horse ride at Grange farm.   The was an incredible ride thru the country side.  Only experienced riders were allowed, so there were 4 of us.  This meant we could canter (lope) thru the country side, which we did.

A few pictures of Robert on Buck.

Ashley is on Antonio.   In the 4th picture that's Lynn on Lil Shadow.    In the last picture, that's Susie Bowie, our guide, on a horse named Ringo.  Susie is involved in what is known as Chasers, where the horses run thru the country side over a timed course.  Some of the horses on her farm are champions.

And we're off.  Jane, George, Laurie, and Amber waited at the farm while we rode.   They took pictures while waiting.

Here are pictures of the fields we rode thru.  Yes, those are sheep we rode past.   They're not that scared of the horses but they do move out of the way.

Here's a few pictures of the country side.

More pictures of the country side and the sheep.  What you can't see in the pictures, is what it feels like to be out here.  The land is open, it's quiet, and we're riding horses.  It's one of those moments where you say it doesn't get any better than this.

A few pictures of Robert and Ashley in the middle of the ride.  Susie was nice enough to take a few pictures of us together.

These are pictures of us coming back to the farm.  We stopped to take a look at the amazing views.    In the last picture is a nice shot of Susie with Ringo doing a bow.

Their web site says "Come for the ride of your life" and I'd have to say, this was one of the best rides of my life.
