Here we are in London. We checked into a Travel Lodge located in Feltham, which is only a few miles from Heathrow airport. ASDA is run by Walmart, and the inside of the store is similar. They sell everything you could think of. There was also a McDonalds and Subway near by. We headed to a train station, there was a church, and a Grease billboard. In the last picture, we're walking towards the London Eye.
Upon rounding the corner, there it is, the London Eye. There's a park where lots of people hang out. The walk ways near the eye were packed with lots of people. Across the river is the clock tower.
Family shots of the Green Family.
Family shots of the Viands Family.
Here are pictures of what it looks like loading into the Eye. Passengers step into the capsule, then the doors are closed. The wheel rotates one time, and does not stop. So the passengers are actually stepping into a moving vehicle. The wheel is sponsored by British Airways, and they consider the ride a flight. The announcements over the PA system make it seem like you are flying on a plane.
There are some incredible views of the clock tower, and Buckingham palace off in the distance. Along with some nice views looking straight down.
Next we took a river ride. It started out going towards the clock tower, then turned around and headed past the wheel.
A few sites as we headed up the river. That's London Tower. Many think this is London Bridge, but that's not true.
This is London Bridge in the first two pictures. In the 4th picture is Traders Gate. People who went in, didn't come out. In the 5th picture is a boat that sailed around the world.
Just north of the wheel is a walk way with street performers. If you give them a tip, they'll perform for you. In the 2nd picture, Oliver dropped some money into the pan and the wizard tapped Oliver on the head. In the 3rd picture, the figures move when money is dropped into the pan. In the 4th picture, the characters pedal real fast and make funny noises. In the 5th picture, the man plays his guitar, and he's very good. In the 5th and 6th picture, that's a real man and a real bird landing on him. Give him money and he reaches out and shakes your hand.
More street performers. In the last picture, a large crowd was gathered around a group of break dancers.
We walked across the river over a bridge, walked up a street, and made our way to a giant square where lots of people were gathered. We were getting hungry at this point, so we kept going.
This is Lester's Square, and that's where we had dinner. We ended up having Chinese food eating outside. In the 4th picture is a gift shop, where Laurie, and Ashley spent an hour buying knick knacks. I went to McDonalds and had desert.
Every show you could imagine was here with many queuing up to get tickets. In the 2nd picture is what the streets looked like, they were packed.
We ducked into a little mall and found a candy shop.
Here's another square where they train horses. They were not out at this time. Inside the building was a guard who didn't move, he stayed perfectly still as people took pictures. We walked across the street to a park. The main road leads to Buckingham palace. On the ground are memorials to Princess Diana.
After walking for what seemed a mile, we finally made it to Buckingham palace. The guards that everyone comes to see were not on display, but there were a couple guards inside that walked back and forth.
A few people shots in front of Buckingham palace. There's a pretty park across from it that makes for good pictures.
Next we had to walk another mile to a bus stop, our feet were killing and everyone was tired. We took a bus to the stop near Harrods and walked towards the store. On the way we passed a tavern and a store that has a funny name.
Harrods, you could spend an entire day in there shopping. Our feet were so tired at this point, and it was getting late. We walked around the first floor where they have food and perfume. We went downstairs for a few minutes, then decided it was time to leave.
We saw a lot in one day. The correct way to see London is to spend a few days visiting the city at a slower pace. The entire city is like an amusement park with things to see.
The next morning we caught our flight home, 9 hours in the air, arriving Miami at about 2pm.
Upon arriving home, we gave Destiny a few presents. She was happy to see us.
End of Report. Thanks for reading.
